# How to Calculate and Solve for Magnetic Flux Density | Magnetic Properties

Last Updated on July 21, 2022

The magnetic flux density is illustrated by the image below.

To compute for magnetic flux density, three essential parameters are needed and these parameters are Permeability in Vacuum (μo), Magnetic Field Strength (H) and Magnetization (M).

The formula for calculating magnetic flux density:

B = μoH + μoM

Where:

B = Magnetic Flux Density
μo = Permeability in Vacuum
H = Magnetic Field Strength
M = Magnetization

Given an example;
Find the magnetic flux density when the permeability in vacuum is 12, the magnetic field strength is 10 and the magnetization is 18.

This implies that;

μo = Permeability in Vacuum = 12
H = Magnetic Field Strength = 10
M = Magnetization = 18

B = μoH + μoM
B = (12)(10) + (12)(18)
B = 120 + 216
B = 336

Therefore, the magnetic flux density is 336 T.

Nickzom Calculator – The Calculator Encyclopedia is capable of calculating the magnetic flux density.

To get the answer and workings of the magnetic flux density using the Nickzom Calculator – The Calculator Encyclopedia. First, you need to obtain the app.

You can get this app via any of these means:

You can also try the demo version via https://www.nickzom.org/calculator

Apple (Paid) – https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/nickzom-calculator/id1331162702?mt=8
Once, you have obtained the calculator encyclopedia app, proceed to the Calculator Map, then click on Materials and Metallurgical under Engineering.

Now, Click on Magnegtic Properities under Materials and Metallurgical

Now, Click on Magnetic Flux Density under Magnetic Properities

The screenshot below displays the page or activity to enter your values, to get the answer for the magnetic flux density according to the respective parameter which is the Permeability in Vacuum (μo), Magnetic Field Strength (H) and Magnetization (M).

Now, enter the values appropriately and accordingly for the parameters as required by the Permeability in Vacuum (μo) is 12, Magnetic Field Strength (H) is 10 and Magnetization (M) is 18.

Finally, Click on Calculate

As you can see from the screenshot above, Nickzom Calculator– The Calculator Encyclopedia solves for the magnetic flux density and presents the formula, workings and steps too.
