How to Calculate and Solve for Magnetic Flux Density | Magnetic Properties

Last Updated on July 21, 2022

The magnetic flux density is illustrated by the image below.

To compute for magnetic flux density, three essential parameters are needed and these parameters are Permeability in Vacuum (μo), Magnetic Field Strength (H) and Magnetization (M).

The formula for calculating magnetic flux density:

B = μoH + μoM

Where:

B = Magnetic Flux Density
μo = Permeability in Vacuum
H = Magnetic Field Strength
M = Magnetization

Given an example;
Find the magnetic flux density when the permeability in vacuum is 12, the magnetic field strength is 10 and the magnetization is 18.

This implies that;

μo = Permeability in Vacuum = 12
H = Magnetic Field Strength = 10
M = Magnetization = 18

B = μoH + μoM
B = (12)(10) + (12)(18)
B = 120 + 216
B = 336

Therefore, the magnetic flux density is 336 T.

Nickzom Calculator – The Calculator Encyclopedia is capable of calculating the magnetic flux density.
