How to Calculate and Solve for Magnetic Susceptibility | Magnetic Properties

Last Updated on July 22, 2022

The magnetic susceptibility is illustrated by the image below.

To compute for magnetic susceptibility, one essential parameter is needed and this parameter is Relative Permeability (μr).

The formula for calculating magnetic susceptibility:

xm = μr – 1

Where:

xm = Magnetic Susceptibility
μr = Relative Permeability

Given an example;
Find the magnetic susceptibility when the relative permeability is 24.

This implies that;

μr = Relative Permeability = 24

xm = μr – 1
xm = 24 – 1
xm = 23

Therefore, the magnetic susceptibility is 23.

Nickzom Calculator – The Calculator Encyclopedia is capable of calculating the magnetic susceptibility.

To get the answer and workings of the magnetic susceptibility using the Nickzom Calculator – The Calculator Encyclopedia. First, you need to obtain the app.

You can get this app via any of these means:

Web – https://www.nickzom.org/calculator-plus

To get access to the professional version via web, you need to register and subscribe to have utter access to all functionalities.
You can also try the demo version via https://www.nickzom.org/calculator

Android (Paid) – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.nickzom.nickzomcalculator
Android (Free) – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nickzom.nickzomcalculator

Once, you have obtained the calculator encyclopedia app, proceed to the Calculator Map, then click on Materials and Metallurgical under Engineering.

Now, Click on Magnegtic Properities under Materials and Metallurgical

Now, Click on Magnetic Susceptibility under Magnetic Properities

The screenshot below displays the page or activity to enter your value, to get the answer for the magnetic susceptibility according to the respective parameter which is the Relative Permeability (μr).

Now, enter the value appropriately and accordingly for the parameter as required by the Relative Permeability (μr) is 24.

Finally, Click on Calculate

As you can see from the screenshot above, Nickzom Calculator– The Calculator Encyclopedia solves for the magnetic susceptibility and presents the formula, workings and steps too.
