Vx = Q / A
Where:

This implies that;
Q = Mass Flow Rate = 12
A = Area = 3
Vx = Q / A
Vx = 12 / 3
Vx = 4

Calculating the Mass Flow Rate when the Volume Flow Rate and the Area is Given.
Q = Vx x A
Where:

A = Area

This implies that;

A = Q / Vx
Where:

This implies that;
