How to Calculate and Solve for Angular Anisotropy | Anisotropy

Last Updated on July 27, 2022

The angular anisotropy is illustrated by the image below.

To compute for angular anisotropy, three essential parameters are needed and these parameters are Normal Anisotropy at Angle 0° (Ro), Normal Anisotropy at Angle 45° (R45) and Normal Anisotropy at Angle 90° (R90).

The formula for calculating the angular anisotropy:

R = (R0 + 2R45 + R90) / 4

Where:

R = Angular Anisotropy
R0 = Normal Anisotropy at Angle 0°
R45 = Normal Anisotropy at Angle 45°
R90 = Normal Anisotropy at Angle 90°

Let’s solve an example;
Find the angular anisotropy when the normal anisotropy at angle 0° is 4. the normal anisotropy at angle 45° is 6 and the normal anisotropy at angle 90° is 3.

This implies that;

R0 = Normal Anisotropy at Angle 0° = 4
R45 = Normal Anisotropy at Angle 45° = 6
R90 = Normal Anisotropy at Angle 90° = 3

R = (R0 + 2R45 + R90) / 4
R = (4 + 2(6) + 3) / 4
R = (4 + 12 + 3) / 4
R = 19 / 4
R = 4.75

Therefore, the angular anisotropy is 4.75.

Nickzom Calculator – The Calculator Encyclopedia is capable of calculating the angular anisotropy.

Now, Click on Angular Anisotropy under Anisotropy

The screenshot below displays the page or activity to enter your values, to get the answer for the angular anisotropy according to the respective parameter which is the Normal Anisotropy at Angle 0° (Ro), Normal Anisotropy at Angle 45° (R45) and Normal Anisotropy at Angle 90° (R90).

Now, enter the values appropriately and accordingly for the parameters as required by the Normal Anisotropy at Angle 0° (Ro) is 4, Normal Anisotropy at Angle 45° (R45is 6 and Normal Anisotropy at Angle 90° (R90) is 3.

Finally, Click on Calculate

As you can see from the screenshot above, Nickzom Calculator– The Calculator Encyclopedia solves for the angular anisotropy and presents the formula, workings and steps too.
